Beauty on The Sunshine Coast: Bright Water, Mountain Creek and Buddina

Family Friendly Brightwater & Mountain Creek

The Brightwater and Mountain Creek area is fantastic for young families, with plenty of beautiful parks and safe landscaped bike paths. A favourite pastime of the locals is to take one of the bike paths down to Mooloolaba for a quiet swim and a laid back lunch on the beach. Located just 3 kilometers from the ocean this area gives you the feeling of being a part of the beach community while having the peace and quiet of being removed from the busy holiday strip. Located within Mountain Creek is the Brightwater community. With yearly events like the Billy Cart Cup, and Santa’s visit during the Christmas in the park festivities, Brightwater reaps the benefits of an active and involved community association and offers a warm and welcoming sense of community to all who settle in this area.

Coastal Beauty in Buddina

Buddina is a coastal suburb located just south of Mooloolaba on The Sunshine Coast. This area contains the Kawana Waters business district, which offers all the benefits of a larger urban centre, and is home to Kawana Shopping World home to many stores and a brilliant food court offering an array of dining options

Exciting proposal is the new cinemas, new undercover parking and new shops are among improvements planned for Kawana Shoppingworld. As well as adding cinemas, the proposed plans will build on the recently opened casual dining precinct, with more options for dining. It will also feature vastly improved street presences on both Nicklin Way and Point Cartwright Drive, with new landscaping, speciality shops and a significant number of extra car spaces. The work will lead to more than 200 new retail jobs when complete and significant employment during the construction phase. Construction is expected to start in late 2017, subject to Council approval.

Buddina is blossoming and is experience many small tasty cafes popping up that cater for vegans, vegetarians, Gluten Free and for the meat eaters.  The food is fresh, vibrant and tasty.

The Surfside Local Store which has been there it seems forever, offers you grocery items at affordable prices, amazing burgers and sumptuous seafood.  Eat in or take away.

La Balsa Park is Picnic paradise on the Mooloolah River.  Parks fit for a picnic do not come much better than this. La Balsa Park in Buddina on the Sunshine Coast has to be the near-perfect place to unwind and relax with family and friends.

Around the corner from Point Cartwright, right on the entrance to the Mooloolah River and opposite the one on La Balsa cafe(which I frequent very often), this is one scenic spot sure to impress anyone who has never been here before and remind those who do live here exactly why they love the Coast.

The local Boat Ramp is amazing to watch the boaties coming in to clean their catch, and feed the scores of pelicans that frequent the river banks.  These birds are amazing to watch, and I always take my visitors here to view this wonderful event.

The Kawana Surf Club is a family favourite offering lovely food and a brilliant atmosphere.

ANZAC day dawn service is a special, solemn and captivating event that draws 100’s of people. The sunrise and the last post is truly reverent.

The Buddina State School offers your children a safe supportive environment in a school with a reputation for excellence.  It is also in the Mountain Creek high school and Kawana High School and a multitude of private schools. catchment areas.

Bordered by the beautiful Coral Sea to the east and the picturesque Canal District to the west Buddina offers an abundance of beauty and tonnes of fun, water-based activities for the outdoor enthusiast. On the ocean side Point Cartwright marks the beginning of a scenic walking track and is famous among locals as one of the best surf breaks on the Sunshine Coast.
