Buderim: A Bustling Urban Centre
Buderim is a small urban centre located inland from Maroochydore. This area is known for it’s beautiful forests and rich history. Buderim is the oldest established settlement in the region and has several historical sites and relics. These include the pioneer cottage, built circa 1880, which has now been converted into a museum. This cedar and beech cottage gives a great insight into the lifestyle of the region’s early settlers and is a must see for anyone interested in Australian history. The long rich history of Buderim, in conjunction with the natural geographical boundary of the plateau it sits on, has created a strong sense of community among its residents. The town fosters community involvement with programs like Buderim Muscle, which lets residents sign up to lend a hand at local events, and many other preservations groups running out of their ‘Greenhouse’ headquarters. This sense of community, along with the excellent schools in the area, makes Buderim a great place to start a family and raise children.
Beautiful Budrim Forest
Less than a kilometer from Buderim Village lies Buderim Forest, a natural wonderland of babbling brooks, stunning forest and home of the magical Buderim Falls which is unofficially named Serenity Falls by the locals. This hidden oasis offers a tranquil spot to walk among the trees and streams on the elevated boardwalk.
Buderim isn’t just a secluded mountain village, it’s also has a fantastic range of designer and boutique retail for fashion and homewares as well as up-market coffee shops and cafes, day spas and beauty services and quality restaurants and Coles and Woolworths.
The Community of Forest Glen
Just outside of Buderim is the beautiful village of Forest Glen. Forest Glen is surrounded by lush forest and has several attractions including the Tanawha tourist drive and Forest Glen deer sanctuary, an open park-style zoo which allows people to feed the deer right out of their car windows. The picturesque Eudlo Creek runs through the area of Forest Glen and connects to the larger Maroochy River. This small village offers tranquil surroundings and a quite, relaxed mountain lifestyle.
